Commodity is unavoidably subjected to the impact or vibration due to the excitation from the transport vehicles or the dropping from the loading or unloading during its circulation. The reasonable cushioning packaging has to be carried out to keep the commodity from being damaged or to reduce the impact and vibration during its circulation to the extent it can endure.The amount of the impact that a commodity can endure during its circulation is the basis for the design of cushioning packaging. The fragile value of a product means the maximum capacity of a commodity to endure impact. It seems blind for the product design of cushioning packaging without knowing its fragile value, which can not stand up to the test from its circulating environment. The reasonable design of cushioning packaging ought to bring forth the best cushioning results and cut down the packaging cost to its minimum if taking the fragile value of a product as the internal cause and the circulating conditions as the external cause. However,quite a few designers for cushioning packaging in our country don't know the importance of fragile value in the current design. In addition, they don't know how much fragile value of a product to be packed has due to the limitation of the testing conditions. The conventional ways they take based on simulation and exploration result in improper design,causing the product to be damaged during its circulation. Thus,it is necessary to carry out the research.on the application of the fragile value of a product in the design of cushioning packaging.
