Because of Regulations and Rules, effective data concerned with ozonernapplication were not to be seen in a half century ago in Japan. Pilotrnplants to collect basic data on ozone application were constructed nearrnKyoto and Tokyo. Four years were needed to accumulate necessaryrndata, and it was found that ozone works so well to remove odor,rnnaturally generated by microorganism and algae, and scarcely thererngenerated odor which could not be removed by ozonation. Combinationrnof ozonation and activated carbon treatment, could remove this kind ofrnodor. But, this does not necessarily mean that activated carbon filtersrnshould be constructed after ozonation process for odor removal.
