摘要

This paper proposes a reliability prediction methodology for material handling systems based on idea of using a large set of field data from actual operating systems. The method involves extracting component reliability information from the pooled set of system life data and then using those component reliability estimates to predict the reliability of a new system. Discussion is given regarding the overall design of the methodology, implementation issues, operation, and underlying statistical modeling. The method is illustrated with a small example.
