An Economic Design of Pneumatic Bait-Casting Machine for Long-Line Fishing Vessels

In this study, an economic bait-casting machine with the fault using pneumatic-type motor is developed for the long-line fishing vessels. The bait-casting machine design here consists of an electrical controller, a pneumatic system and a baited launcher. Using the present design technique, the pneumatic motor can be controlled by an electrical controller and imposes high torque and high speed on the bait-casting machine. Some characteristics of the present developed bait-casting machine have been investigated and analyzed by sea trials, including the effects of torque and speed due to the motor responses. With the present design of the bait-casting machine, we can save lots of labor work and reduce the catching baits by the sea-birds. Eventually the efficiency of the catching fish can be improved and the protection of the sea-birds can be also achieved.
