COMPARISON OF HATSCHEK AND FLOW-ON BOARD MACHINES

The production of NT (non-asbestos) fiber cement boards require some adjustments to the entire productionrnprocess when compared with the asbestos cement production. Above all, the selection and use of raw materialsrnmust be adapted with regard to two primary aspects: product quality and the optimal manufacturing process.rnMost types of fiber cement sheets can be produced with the well-known Hatschek process, but some rawrnmaterials are difficult to run on a Hatschek board machine. In such cases, the Flow-on board machine can be arngood alternative.rnThis paper compares these two production methods and shows their advantages and disadvantages.rnFurthermore, we also discuss the specific characteristics and operating conditions of Flow-on and Hatschekrnplants.rnNT is an abbreviation for “new technology” and means production without asbestos fibers.
