USE OF SILICONE RESIN AS INTEGRAL WATER REPELLENT FOR MORTAR AND FIBRE REINFORCED CEMENT BOARDS (FRC)

摘要

This paper describes the use of silicone resin as a hydrophobic admixture for cement-based matrix and fiberrnreinforced cement boards in particular.rnThe impact of Z-6289 as a hydrophobic admixture in mortar on water uptake, cement setting time andrnmechanical properties is given.rnThe positive impact of adding a silicone resin ( Z-6289) in a fiber board composition is illustrated. Z-6289 wasrnadded to lab-made FRC boards and its effects on the board water uptake, post coating paint adhesion,rnefflorescence, freeze thaw stability are illustrated.
