摘要

Large scale prediction of mineral resources has practical economical significance. Its results can directly be applied to prospecting of ore deposits. Therefore, it has drawn great attention of both explorers and researchers. The documents and practices of large scale prognosis show that researtches into the methods of large scale prognosis have made great progress. However, majority of the practices are undertaken in the known deposit areas and most advanced methods are only suitable for such areas. In unknown deposit areas, both predictions and studies of methods are inadequate. It is necessary to seek new methods which are effective in unknown deposit areas, because the unknown deposit areas where there are good minerogenitic conditions have the greatest potentiality to provide new mineral resources. We have worked on that field for a decade and put forward a new method for mineral prediction in unknown deposit areas two years ago. The method has been tested in the large scale prediction of the gold deposit in Liaoning province and two new exploration bases have been found.
