METALLOGENETIC SERIES AND BASIC CHARACTERISTICS OF ORE DEPOSITS IN YUNNAN PROVINCE

There are various kinds and complicated types of mineral resouces in Yunnan Province. 142 kinds of mineral resouces have been discovered and more than 2700 ore deposits and occurrences are valuable, of which 1232 are ore deposits. According to the concept of metallogenetic series proposed by Cheng Yuqi and Chen Yuchaun (1979, 1984) and the specific geological conditions of Yunnan, the mineral resources of Yunnan are classified as 4 assemblages of metallogenetic series, 16 types of metallogenesis, including 35 metallogenetic series, 51 sub-series, 178 typical ore deposit forms.
