The fast advance of wireless networking and communication, and mobile technology is making a big impact to people's life. As the significant increase of mobile device users, more wireless information services and mobile commerce applications are needed. Wireless payment and mobile transaction services become an essential part in wireless information services and commerce applications. In this paper, we provide a tutorial level discussion about wireless payment subject, including concepts, business models, opportunities, challenges and solutions as well as major players. The paper discussed wireless payment systems in terms of functional features, types, issues and current practices. How to provide cost-effective payment solutions to mobile device users and efficient payment systems to wireless merchants and service vendors is becoming one interesting topic for payment solution providers and engineers. Next generation wireless payment solutions must be able to pay at anywhere and at anytime in a fast and secure manner.
