As the security case increases every year, research on computer security has been a hot area in computer science. Still in its infancy stage and promising lots of scope for application in computer security, vulnerability analysis is concerned with the problem of identifying weaknesses in computer systems that can be exploited to compromise their security. Currently, vulnerability analysis is in a trend from rule-based to model-based analysis with the future work for model building and improving. In this paper, we try to present a general yet "precise introduction to the current work and latest trends in Vulnerability Analysis with a focus on Model-Based Network Vulnerability Analysis. Guided by the modeling Methodology, we-described the main model, discussed their application and limitation, and then introduced a new probabilistic approach to improve the model.
