A Three-tier Maintaining Architecture (TMA) of Data Warehouse is introduced in the paper to guarantee data consistency between database and data warehouse in real-time while users can still operate data warehouse normally. In TMA, a new module called data warehouse base is integrated to make the work of database and data warehouse more clearly and lighten the maintenance load of database. Within TMA framework, three on-line maintenance algorithms based on version-control and incremental compensation mechanism for single and multiple views are introduced to meet the most common situation of data warehouse on-line maintenance. Also we realized a prototype system to prove and verify the algorithms we proposed above.
