摘要

At present, the local volume splines is one of main modeling methods in the visualization for large scattered volumetric data sets. A good partition of the modeling domain is crucial to implementation of local volume splines method. In this paper, a simulated annealing algorithm is presented to carry out optimization partition of the domain; two experiments together with comparison with Nielson's results are described to show the feasibility of this approach and some limits to the size of the data sets. Finally, an example of the visualization for a set of oceanic investigation data is given to convey the potential of this method.
