Global Carbonate Fuel Cell Activities and Vision

Significant progress is made in the development of carbonate fuel cell technology for stationary power generation by reputed organizations throughout the world. FuelCell Energy (formally Energy Research Corporation) has been developing a Direct Fuel Cell version of the carbonate fuel cell that simplifies the system design, reduces its cost and improves electrical efficiency. This technology is now demonstrated in a 250 kW building block stack for over 10,000 hours and additional field trials are planned. Following the field trials, commercial offering is planned on a global basis in collaboration with strategic suppliers, distributors, and partners. Expansion of manufacturing capacity, and continued development of ultra-high efficiency and diesel fuel applications are also envisioned.
