Context-Conflict Management for Context-aware Applications in a Shared Pervasive Computing Environment

The context-aware applications have focused on providing services to single user based on the user's preference or historical behavior. When the ubiquitous computing paradigm comes to the home where family members share limited space with a high degree of conflict situations among them, we need to address the situations between context-aware applications. In this paper, we propose a context-conflict management technique for context-aware applications so that they can continue to serve their users without distracting or sacrificing each others. Personalized context-aware applications can be reused without modification as the conflict manager takes charge of detecting and resolving the conflicts. Thus, the complicated context-conflict situation will become transparent to the application programmers who develop context-aware applications.
