Current Topics in Urban Stream Restoration and Protection

摘要

In recent years there has been a new emphasis on restoring impaired streams. Approaches which attempt to imitate natural stream channel geometry as well as those based upon river engineering calculations have become very popular. There are a number of issues yet to be resolved in these approaches to stream restoration. There is also a need to develop consensus on standardization of methods. This paper will attempt to outline these issues, and suggest some approaches including research needs that can begin to resolve them.
