摘要

Five tests in two series on reinforced concrete beams in torsion have been conducted. The higher objective of both series was the analysis of significant influences on the bearing capacity of the concrete strut under torsion. Detailed aspects as concrete cover thickness and reinforcement layout were examined to derive a proven and appropriate design approach on the basis of the well-known space truss model. An established database of more than 300 relevant tests on reinforced and prestressed concrete beams enabled the evaluation of current international design codes (ACI 318-02, Eurocode 2, Model Code 90, SIA 262 and DIN 1045-1) with regard to the experimental observation. The theoretical studies revealed the inadequacy of the present design provision regarding the examined influences.
