Firstly the status of research on the theory of calculation of Concrete-Filled Rectangular Steel Tubular Columns (CFRT) in China is introduced, and a problem that needs to be settled is pointed out, namely the problem about coefficients of distribution of axial pressure. Then this paper expounds two existing methods about coefficients of distribution of axial pressure in CFRT, and compares them with facts. Based on the theory of compatible lateral deformation and longitudinal deformation of rectangular steel tubes and concrete in the steel tubes this paper deduces a new method to calculate coefficients of distribution of axial pressure, and represents some correlated data to prove the rationality of this new method.
