A fine and directionally solidified structure with typical solidification texture, including {001} and {011} components is the feature of white iron strips produced by using the UDTR (unequal-diameter twin-roller) strip casting process. Experimental results showed that solidification structure and orientation density were unequal along the through-thickness direction and affected by career and cooling rate during solidification. Besides, carbon and silicon contents have significant influences on microstructure and solidification texture, including the morphology of the eutectic carbide and the pole intensity of preferred orientations, specially in {110}<110>, {001}<3-10> and{001}<110> components. There was a critical carbon content about 3.0wt% for the transition in the eutectic cementite morphology of the strips from a continuous network-like form to a discontinuous plate-like one. Silicon-rich carbide phases were found in the strips when the silicon content exceeded a critical value.
