Modelling of the hydromechanical behaviour of unsaturated swelling soils under high suctions

The elastoplastic model BExM for the unsaturated swelling soils was implemented in a finite-element code (Code_Bright). The modelrnvalidation is then checked by the numerical simulations of the suction-controlled tests made in the laboratory on a compacted mixturernof 60 % bentonite and 40 % silt. A good agreement between the soil response and the model predictions was observed.
