When the electric power system transient fault occurs, it will cause the Photovoltaic (PV) power station large-scale off-grid problems, if the PV power station doesn't have low voltage ride through and dynamic reactive power compensation function. It is seriously affecting the safety and stability of power grid. Therefore, the grid-connected PV power station is required the dynamic reactive power support ability. Limited to the testing device capacity, it can't meet the demand of site dynamic reactive power testing, so that the PV power station needs to carry out the dynamic reactive power response performance test method research. The paper analyses of the different field testing method for PV power station dynamic reactive power, and combining with field measured data and the simulation results. Then, this paper presents a method of dynamic reactive power response performance which is applicable for PV power station, through comparing the feasibility of different testing method.
