摘要

In order to study arc column feature, high-speed image recording technology was used to capture arc image. But contacts and chamber can't be observed due to the arc radiation and contacts reflection. A wavelet based approach for weak contacts feature in the arc image was proposed. Arc image was decomposed by using wavelet, then the weak wavelet coefficients were amplified by using nonlinear mapping method, enhancement image was reconstructed by an inverse wavelet transform. To achieve a better visual effect, different coefficient amplifying gain was used at each level. The experiment results show that the proposed method avoids over-enhancement of noise while enhancing weak contacts feature with good visual effect.
