In the paper an attempt has been made to analyze the ability to grow of hypothetical new grains having various orientations in the normal direction of real, deformed sample. As a "test matrix" the structure of commercially pure aluminum cold rolled up to 90% has been used. To characterize this structure the orientations of crystallites have been determined in successive neighboring subgrains along the normal direction in TEM. The best agreement of simulated recrystallization textures with the experimental one can be obtained assuming that the maximum migration rate of the boundary occurs for misorientations with a disorientation angle between 35°/50° and a rotation axes near the <111> axis.
