Technical Development Trend in Generator Protection

摘要

As a global manufacturer of protection, control & automation of power system, including generation, transmission & distribution, ABB has been involved in generator protection for many decades. This article starts with ABB generator protection history and references both internationally and here in China, especially the reference in the famous Three Gorges Hydro Power Plant project. It then elaborates the application and technical development trend based on modem numerical technology. Finally a conclusion that ABB will continue to supply the most advanced and optimized generator protection solutions for power plants worldwide to meet the increasing customer demand.
