The Application and Development of Load Control Technology in Beijing Power Grid

Beijing has been suffered from a chronic shortage of electricity. As early as 1980s, Beijing Electric Power Corporation, with imported technology, gradually has applied load control into Beijing power grid safety operation and control. With the restructure of power sector and market-oriented operation, supplying excellent service to consumers has become one of the important strategy targets. The forced load control system targeting instant restrict consumers who using electricity, has been transformed into flexible load management system facing the entire society. Traditional load control technology needs to be completed in order to realize the transform.
