INROADS OF POLYPROPYLENE IN MATERIALS HANDLING APPLICATIONS

Polypropylene materials find wide use in the Materials Handling market arena of rigid packaging. Considerations such as reusability, wood replacement, better hygienic treatment for direct food contact, fire retardance, mechanical property balance, recyclability and in general, improved properties are what makes them unique. Ranging from one piece agricultural containers to collapsible and reusable crates, the manufacture and processing of such materials present some interesting challenges and these will be presented in the current paper.
