This paper presents an experimental study of the local energy distribution of filamentary dielectric barrier discharges under the influence of textile substrate under treatment, in an arrangement of a cylindrical against a plane electrode. The axial as well as azimuthal distribution is measured by subdividing the plane ground electrode into strips with different orientation. The results show that the energy is lower in the area of textile, and higher in the air gap. An explanation is given based on capacitive voltage division.
