Many modeling paradigms for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of parallel and distributed applications have been introduced in the literature. Petri nets, queuing networks and stochastic process algebra are just some examples of these formalisms. Many tools are readily available to study models described using these languages. However, in many cases the user would like "extend" these formalisms in order to capture particular behaviors of the system under study. In this work we present an object oriented simulation framework suitable for analyzing models described with an high level formalism. The particular structure of the framework makes the extension, composition and integration of models described by multiple upper level formalisms possible. Particular care has been taken in considering concurrent service policy with non-Markovian service time distributions.
