Resonant magnetic valves show extremely low power consumption. Although two magnetic circuits with magnetic coils are employed within the novel resonant valve, its actuator can be considerably downscaled in comparison with its non-resonant realization. The dynamic properties of the valve do not depend on the raise and decay rates of the magnetic field. The resonant assembly enables the realization of considerably larger air gaps. During any motion cycle, mechanical energy is gained from a spring. The resonant mini-valve shows outstanding specifications pointing out the potentials of the resonant principle. This paper introduces the resonant operating principle as well as the beneficial capabilities of a novel resonant pneumatic valve.
