This paper explores an experimental appraoch to distributed multimedia applications requires many features: distributed services, management of systems and interoperability with legacy applications. We tried on experimental approach, which resulted in a new framework, HANURI. HANURI is in middleware layer and based on client/server model. HANURI provides one top servie, management of distributed systems and interoperability with legacy data through HANURI's three components: HANURI/C, HANURI/M and HANURI/T respectively. For this we show one typical example, Travel Reservation Service (TRS), where HANURI provides and efficient approach to legacy data. One of weaknesses of HANURI is that it needs different backgrounds, transaction and system management, and a little poor performance compared with non-HANURI approach.
