MARGINAL COST BASED APPROACH TO DETERMINE TRANSMISSION PRICE IN ELECTRIC POWER MARKET

With the reform progress of Chinese electric power market, it is a necessary trend to divide generation and transmission of electric power. Thus, how to determine the transmission price becomes a very important problem to the electric power bureaus to manage power networks. A marginal cost base approach is proposed for determining the transmission price in environment of electric market. According to the suggested method, the transmission price is composed of power capacity price, energy price and average profit. The detail framework of this approach is discussed in detail. The approach had been applied to calculate the transmission price of a power system. The satisfactory result was achieved.
