摘要

The need for higher production speeds while assuring the same quality for the product led to new problems intimately related with faults, mainly due to the accelerated ageing of the knitting elements. Monitoring devices and systems were developed to detect the most important malfunctions of the knitting machine, however, there is still important information concerning the knitting process that remains to be monitored. This paper presents some research made towards the full monitoring of the knitting process, by introducing a system and specific devices under development for measurement, analysis and characterisation of the knitting process during production, by means of the yarn input tension (YIT) parameter.
