In recent years, there has been significant attention given to engineering design of innovative products. An innovative product can be characterized in the early design stages by function, structure and behavior, therefore, how to represent and organize them is crucial for an innovative product design. This paper proposes a multiple-view integration approach, namely function, structure, behavior and scenario. The views of function, structure and behavior aim to represent and reason a design concept from different perspectives, formalizing the design knowledge in different domains, whereas the scenario view aims to capture and organize analysis, synthesis and transforming activities among them, stimulating innovation. The approach is well suited to flexible and extensible design processes, in the paper we enumerate 3 actual design process scenarios, FBS (Function→Structure→Behavior), FSB (Function→Behavior→Structure) and mixed design scenario. Their related activities in each scenario are also discussed.
