RC5 encryption algorithm is a fast symmetric block cipher suitable for hardware or software implementations. A novel feature of RC5 is the heavy use of data dependant rotations. The RC5 has a variable word size, a variable number of rounds, and variable length secret key. RC5 Encryption algorithm is extremely simple.We have analyzed the RC5 algorithm and we found that the Average speed of encryption is 31.4 seconds for file size of 8000000 bytes to 80000000 bytes keeping No. Of rounds of encryption/decryption as 15 and Key size as 16 bytes (256 bits). Similarly, the avg. speed of encryption time for 15 to 70 rounds of encryption is 17 seconds keeping the file size of 8000000 bytes and Key size of 16 bytes constant. An interesting point is varying key size doesn't change the time required for encryption.
