This paper focuses on the traffic balanced for MPLS-based network mesh through selecting paths for traffic demands. MPLS and explicit routing are seen to be much more capable solution for improving network utilization and balance traffic to avoid congestion. But how to balance traffic and keep network resource is very bard problem. Specially to the nonbifurcation traffic demands, it is NP-hard. We model the traffic balance of the traffic engineering problem as an multiobject optimization problem with the objective of minimizing difference of link utilization and minimizing the average link utilization of the whole network. We present a mathematical formulation for this multi-objective optimization. We proposed a heuristic algorithm to solve the multi-objective optimization problem. The performance of the heuristic algorithm is tested in a backbone topology of a large network. The results show that the heuristic algorithm can balance traffic demands of the network effectively.
