Metadata Management for Web Warehousing and Knowledge Management

The worldwide web provides a wonderful opportunity for individuals to: obtain data and reports; research and gain from others'shared experiences; and gain additional knowledge about any topic of their interest as it is posted to the web. In many cases, individuals have been frustrated by this process since they are not able to access current, relevant data and information. Much of the reason lies with metadata that is used in support of the web content. In many cases, it is non-existent, ill defined, erroneously labeled, and, if well defined, continues to be surrounded by other disparate metadata. A web-enabled metadata data warehouse begins to provide a solution needed to build that support and provide the interchange of "quality" metadata that enables individuals to access web content with the relevant, contemporary data and information they need.
