A Study on the Work Goal System of Institutes and Departments in Colleges and Universities

The article, in accordance with the law of the development of higher educatipn and in combination with the reality of the colleges and universities in our country, probes into the structural principles, goal varieties, structure and content of the goal system, process and methods of goal formulation etc. under the management pattern of the goal-related responsibility system for institutes and departments of colleges and universities. It is clearly indicated that under the condition of the socialist market economy, goal-related responsibility system is an efficient management pattern, of which the formulation of work goal is a premise of primary importance. The scientific structure of the goal system can strengthen the work focus of the institutes and departments, stimulate their enthusiasm, facilitate the supervision over their implementation and thus realize the development goal of the university. The work goal system has been put into practice in Wuhan University of Technology since 2002.
