A Resources-based Analysis of Factors Determining National Innovation Productivity

From the perspective of resources-based view, this paper analyses the determinants of national innovation productivity. It introduces a novel theoretical framework based on the concept of national innovation resources. National innovation productivity is decided by the common innovation infrastructural resources, the industrial clusters resources, and firm-specific innovation resources. The overall innovative performance of an economy results from the systemic linkages among the common infrastructure, the industry clusters' innovation environment, and firms' specific factors that shape innovation.
