The system consisting of a periodically operated RLC circuit with sinusoidal source and a Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) may be modelled by a switch system. The system is studied by taking the initial firing angles of the thyristor as the control variables. Fold bifurcation of the switch off time is obtained in the paper. When the initial firing angles and other initial condition are fixed and two parameters of the system are taken as bifurcation parameter, the periodic solution will lose stability due the variation of the proceeding firing time.
