A New Approach For Localization Of Vehicle License Plates

Vehicle license plate (V.L.P.) recognition system is an interesting but complicated research topic. The problem has gained more and more attention not only in the academic but also in the industrial research for the past ten years. The key problem in VLP recognition lies in the localization of license plates. In the research, an adaptive heuristic approach is proposed to localize the license plates for dynamic and static images. Experiment results show that the proposed method is efficient and effective.
