ENABLING MIDDLE OF PRODUCT LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT USING RFID TECHNOLOGY

Against the backdrop of increasing focus on product lifecycle management, manufacturers, users and those involved in the product distribution are calling for mechanism that will continuously monitor the lifecycle of the product. While integration in design and manufacturing has matured to great extent, middle of lifecycle(maintenance) lack behind. Radio frequency identification (RFID) in this context has the potential to offer most desired link for tracking the real time product information after the product has been delivered to the user. This Paper presents a framework of Electronic Product Code (EPC) based PLM, for monitoring and managing information related to aircraft maintenance.
