Some Performance Aspects of Machining Al - Si - LM -13 By using Hardened C - 15 Cutting Tool

摘要

This paper presents findings of studies on machining of Aluminum alloy (Internal Combustion Engine Piston) with Hardened C-15 cutting tool under various machining condition. The studies were carried out on a medium duty lathe. It has been observed that the machining Aluminum alloy at low cutting speed and high depth of cut reduces tool wear resulting in the increased tool life.
