A program to simulate the process of linecontact machining of revolution conic surfaces is described, which program is based on the theory of the grain-abrasion. With the analysis of the grinding contact system, built is the material removal model. Given the flow chart of the simulation procedure, the methods for choosing the simulation parameter are discussed in details. To verify this model and to analyses the machining process, discussed are the effect of the size of particle, that of the initial shape of the workpiece and that of the initial tool shape on the final shape of the workpiece with this model. The simulation results indicate that the final shape is independent on the initial shape of the workepiece and that of the tool besides depending on the size of the abrasive particle. The simulation results also indicate that the effect of the particle size may be decreased with offset compensated along the t axis.
