Due to the diversity of the tubesheet construction for double tubesheet heat exchangers,there is no national code for the tubesheet design.Generally,the thickness of tubesheet is approximately calculated by National Standards GB151-1999,but the rationality and reliability of the method need further validation.Currently there have been three specific design models available in TEMA standard.However,the calculation model in TEMA standard is inconsistent with the specific structure studied.Moreover,there is no engineering design software for the models.The approximate calculation of tube-sheet based on SW6 software was made for U-tube and fixed shell and tube heat exchangers,and the thermal stress analysis and optimization design of tubesheet were made by ANSYS software.The effect of the liquid gathering shell was studied.The results show that the approximate calculation of the design thickness of tubesheet for double tubesheet heat exchangers by SW6 software is safe and the result is conservative.Optimization design based on finite element analysis has effectively reduced the design thickness of the tubesheet.
