The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) approach was successfully used to predict the experimentally observed gas solid flow behavior in a vertical rotating fluidized bed (RFB). The instantaneous velocity, volume fraction and pressure drop profiles for the gas and particulate phases were calculated in a rotating fluidized bed containing single and two size particles. A preliminary simulation was also conducted to study the behavior of nano-particles in a rotating fluidized bed.
