Kinetic simulation for phosphorus adsorption by sediments has shown that fast phosphorus adsorption mainly occurred at the beginning of experiment from 0-10h and then basically attending to a dynamic equilibrium after 10h. The phosphorus adsorption rates at different time intervals exhibit that phosphate adsorption by sediments occurred in 0-0.5h, and were obviously influenced by fine particle concentrations. The experimental results show that the adsorption capacity of tidal flat different environmental samples ranged from 26.32-204.08 mg/kg and had high affinities for TOC and Fe~(3+)concentration levels. The phosphorus adsorption efficiency. varied from 21.55-248.30 L/kg in this study area, showing obvious correlation with TOC, reflecting adsorption efficiencies were mainly controlled by TOC contents.
