A FRAMEWORK FOR EVALUATING WIS DESIGN METHODOLOGIES

Nowadays, with the rapid growth of the Internet and the Web-based Information System (WIS), special effort is spent in order to provide a well-defined software production process for WIS. Considering this, it may be very interesting for WIS designers to carry out an analysis or evaluation of the existing methodologies that would be most appropriate to use in each case. This study presents a proposal of a framework for the evaluation process of WIS design methodologies. The proposal, based on previous works, takes into consideration qualitative evaluation criteria employing quantitative methods. In order to clarify the proposal, this framework is also applied to a case study, and some interesting aspects are analyzed from both a qualitative and a quantitative perspective.
