摘要

The high performance, low power and flexibility criteria of next generation mobile communication systems requires suitable VLSI and highly integrated System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. One essential part of future UMTS-based communication devices are complex CDMA-based RAKE-re-ceiver structures. Therefore, this paper discusses first in detail the corresponding communication algorithms and their functional simulation results. Based thereupon, flexible receiver architecture are proposed and the hardware structures of the most complex algorithm parts are implemented and prototyped with Virtex FPGAs in order to validate the feasibility of their hardware realization. Finally, a suitable implementation solution based on an application-specific coarse-grain dynamically reconfigurable architectures is described.
