Research on the operation of the refrigerator working on double circuit cycle that permits Gas Compensating Processes (GCP) in a single-cylinder compressor has been carried out. The purpose of this paper was to study the possibilities of using this GCP compressor in a domestic refrigerator for production of a larger cooling capacity. Based on thermodynamic model, relative simulating programs had been developed, in which refrigerant mass flow rates of the suction process and the compensating process were dependent parameters varied with suction temperature, position of the compensating chamber, piston shape and physical characteristics of cylinder and suction valve. Accordingly, a curve of cooling capacity could be drawn. Theoretical analysis showed that when the first suction temperature is constant, there exists an optimum size of the compensating chamber that make the cooling capacity to reach the maximum value. The results show that this new compressor could greatly enhance the cooling capacity, thus approve the validity of reasonability of using it in practice and the immense economic potential.
