摘要

Response non-uniformity of detector elements causes ring artifacts on CT image. Based on "concentricity" character of ring artifacts, the method for correcting these artifacts is presented. In this method, the original CT image is transformed into polar coordinates, then average all rows of the transform result, extract high frequency parts from the average, and revise the result according to the high frequency parts, finally convert the revised result back into Cartesian coordinate to get the corrected CT image. Testifying the method uses the projection data collected with LDA-1024 linear diode array. Experimental results show the method can effectively reduce the ring artifacts. It improves industrial CT image quality.
