Constructing Public Participation GIS Web Services for Urban Transportation Information Collection

摘要

Public participation GIS systems are important tools for the general public to involve in the decision-making processes of urban transportation spatial planning. This paper proposed a framework for constructing public participation GIS web services for urban transportation information collection. The public participation GIS web services are constructed with three layers according to the J2EE infrastructure. The GIS data stored in the databases, and geographical interface is build up with a java GIS applet that can show the geographical information of the urban transportation. It can be used for general public to participate the social urban transportation information management and decision-making processes.
